very close to where we are today, in an ancient military alcazar that over time became the Royal Palace. In 1085, Alfonso VI conquered the city, beginning its transformation under Christian kingdoms. Since then, it has grown from a modest population of 4,000 inhabitants in 1530 to more than seven million today in the metropolitan area.  <\/p><p>Calle de las Veneras is a witness to this history. With over<br>900 years of antiquity, it appears on maps since the 12th century without having changed its name.
